The novels written by IC Blackman, at the very least, were fashioned to get one thinking, to get one feeling, talking; at the very best, inspired beyond the transient happiness of entertainment. They unfold slowly, deliberately, to a gratifying crescendo of engagement, through the triumphs and losses of their characters. You aren’t expected to agree with every timbre of their voices, but they will be worth your consideration. Most importantly, the novels aren’t for everyone.
